Murphy's Housing

Features

Access and Storage

Configure guests and physical keys and understand the VORP 1.38.1 storage units.

Keep access types distinct

Access Intended scope
Owner Property rights according to the ownership type.
Guest Specific permissions assigned through property management.
Physical key holder Door access; the key alone does not grant storage, decoration or management.
Visitor A limited visit, without ownership or storage access.

For guest access, review each permission separately. The inspected API distinguishes management, rent payment, storage (stockage) and decoration (housing), among integration-specific permissions. Grant only the actions the guest needs and test their actual menu and server behavior.

Physical keys

Physical keys are an opt-in feature under Config.PhysicalKeys. Register the configured item in the framework inventory with the metadata handling expected by the downloaded adapter. Do not copy a stack/uniqueness setting from a different inventory without checking how key metadata is preserved.

The owner can create key copies and change the lock. Changing the lock or transferring ownership invalidates older keys according to the advertised system. Test an old copy and a newly issued copy after a lock change; the item may still exist while no longer opening that property.

Keys are not a replacement for granting guest permissions. A key holder who can open a door but cannot open storage may be behaving correctly.

Storage and units

For instances, the inspected template field is Config.Interiors[template].stockage. MLO capacity options are in Config.StockageOptionsMLO.

VORP release reference: 1.38.1. The public notes specify slot-based custom inventories. The configured capacity is used as the number of slots and is refreshed when an administrator changes an MLO's capacity. Older comments or screenshots showing kilograms do not establish the units for this adapter.

For another inventory, verify its current adapter and capacity convention. Test depositing and withdrawing items, a full inventory, an unauthorized guest and a reconnect. Use disposable items for capacity tests.

Troubleshooting

If storage fails with VORP openInventory missing, check Common Issues and the 1.38.1 update. If a player lacks access, verify the character, ownership type and specific guest permission before changing the storage backend. Preserve stored contents during diagnosis.

The current VORP release notes establish the slot units. Capacity labels in an older promotional recording do not override those notes.
