Murphy's Creator

Getting Started

Configuration

Creator: Find the configuration file, use the supported option names and understand their units before changing settings.

Edit the correct configuration file

The main options are in murphy_creator/shared/config.lua. Back up that file and edit the existing entries. The examples below are partial settings, not a replacement for the complete configuration.

Select your framework

Set one value that matches the server's core:

Framework Config.framework
RedEM:RP 2023 REDEMRP2k23
RSG Core rsg-core
VORP vorp
QBR, announced in Creator 1.41.1 qbr-core

The spelling and capitalization matter. The Creator product page lists VORP, RSG and RedEM:RP 2023 in its overview; its public 1.41.1 release notes additionally announce QBR. Use a release that supports the selected framework. An adapter filename or an old comment alone is not a compatibility commitment.

Example for a VORP server:

shared/config.lua
Config.framework = 'vorp'

Appearance reload command

shared/config.lua
Config.LoadSkinCommand = "mc"

With this example, /mc reloads the saved appearance. It does not open the creator. See Commands.

Language

shared/config.lua
Config.Locale = "en"

Choose a locale present in your installed ui/locales/ directory. Interface translations and Lua-generated menu labels are separate; see Localization.

Clothing integration

shared/config.lua
Config.murphy_clothing = true

Enable this setting when using Murphy's Clothing. Creator's product page lists Barber and Clothing as separate products; enabling a setting does not install either resource.

Debugging and development

shared/config.lua
Config.Debug = false
Config.DevMode = false

Config.Debug controls diagnostic output. Config.DevMode controls development behavior. Enable diagnostic output temporarily when investigating a reproducible issue; do not enable DevMode just to obtain logs.

Slots, decor and cameras

Use the CharSelect, Decor and Camera guide for Config.Slots, Config.PedPermission, Config.CharSelect, and Config.CreatorInterior. Keep slot permissions and the number of visible ped positions consistent.

Verify a change

  1. Save a copy of the working configuration.
  2. Change one setting and check Lua syntax.
  3. Apply the change during a maintenance or test session, then reconnect.
  4. Verify the affected workflow, including saving and reconnecting when appearance data is involved.

Use the configuration delivered with your installed release. New options from a later release must not be copied into an older resource with an expectation that they will work.
