Murphy's Creator

Advanced

Commands

Creator: Command names, arguments, behavior and the checks to make before using them on your server.

Reload the saved appearance

The reload command is named by Config.LoadSkinCommand in murphy_creator/shared/config.lua. It reloads saved appearance data; it does not open the character creation form.

For example, with this setting:

shared/config.lua
Config.LoadSkinCommand = "mc"

Enter this in the in-game chat:

text
/mc

Use the name configured on your server. Do not include the leading / in the Lua setting. The command does not take a player ID.

Create or edit a character

New characters start from the character selection screen. Editing an existing character uses the separate Second Chance workflow, with its own configuration and permissions.

Developer shortcuts

Config.DevMode enables development behavior. Keep it disabled on a live server. A development shortcut is not a replacement for the framework's normal character selection integration.

The earlier /loadskin, /charselectmenu, and conflicting F2/F3 instructions on this page were not a reliable command reference. Use Config.LoadSkinCommand for appearance reloads. No fixed character-selection chat command or developer key is established by this guide.

If reloading does not help

Check known issues by release. Record the installed Creator version, framework, and whether the problem happens on connection, after changing clothes, or after a reload. These are different reproduction cases.
