Murphy's Creator

Features

Character Selection

Creator: Understand the connection flow, character slots and checks for missing or incorrect character previews.

Enter character selection

Character selection belongs to the framework's connection and character-loading flow. Once the integration is installed, the screen lets a player choose an existing character or begin creating one in an available slot.

The client event murphy_creator:OpenCharSelect requests the character list from the server. It is an integration entry point, not a documented chat command. See Installation for the distinction between client and server events.

Configure slots and the scene

Use the CharSelect, Decor and Camera guide as the configuration reference:

  • Config.Slots controls slot counts and overrides.
  • Config.PedPermission controls access to ped-model selection.
  • Config.CharSelect describes the selection scene and ped positions.

Changing a slot limit does not automatically provide well-framed positions for every visible character. Verify the scene with the intended number of slots.

Verify selection

  1. Connect using the framework's normal login flow.
  2. Check the available characters and the empty slots.
  3. Select an existing test character and verify its identity and appearance in the world.
  4. Reconnect and check another character to detect crossed previews or saved-data problems.

The public 1.47.4 notes describe missing selection pins; 1.47.5 describes preview clothes or hair being applied to the wrong character. Consult Known issues before changing stored character records.

Development mode

Keep Config.DevMode disabled on a live server. Previous pages gave conflicting F2/F3 shortcuts; this guide does not establish a fixed developer key. Development access does not validate the normal connection flow.
