Troubleshooting
Creator: Identify the failing step, collect useful diagnostics and check the relevant release before changing player data.
Identify the failing step
Start by recording the installed Creator version and framework. Distinguish these cases:
| Symptom | First check |
|---|---|
| No character selection screen | Server console, core startup, and the framework's character-selection integration. |
| Missing or incorrect preview | The release-specific preview fixes on Known issues. |
| Appearance changes after spawning | Whether it changes on connection, after a skin reload, or after another appearance resource runs. |
| Menu stops responding | Creator 1.47.6 and the matching Barber/Clothing menu fixes. |
| Some labels stay in another language | The separate interface and Lua text sources in Localization. |
Capture useful diagnostics
Config.Debug and Config.DevMode have different purposes. Use diagnostic output for a report; do not enable developer shortcuts simply to obtain logs.
Reproduce the problem once in a test or maintenance session. Capture the first relevant server-console error and the corresponding client F8 output. Return Config.Debug to its previous value afterwards.
Check configuration
Verify Config.framework in shared/config.lua using the exact values in Framework support. If using Clothing, check that the resource is installed and that Config.murphy_clothing matches that setup.
For appearance reloads, use the value of Config.LoadSkinCommand. With "mc", the chat command is /mc. Repeatedly reloading a skin is not evidence that the underlying issue is fixed.
Report a reproducible issue
Include the page URL, resource versions, framework, exact steps, expected result, actual result, and whether another player sees the same problem. Remove account identifiers, credentials, and unrelated player information from screenshots or logs before sharing them.
Do not delete character rows or reset player health, clothes, or appearance globally as a generic troubleshooting step. A release-specific migration needs its own backup and validation.
