Murphy's Craft

Crafting System

Hidden Recipes System

Overview

This system allows you to control the visibility of recipes and their resources in the crafting interface.

Available Properties

hideResources

Hides the list of required ingredients for a recipe.

Behavior:

  • Recipe remains visible in the list
  • Resource names are replaced with "???"
  • Quantities display "Hidden Resource"
  • Player can see there's a recipe but not what's required

Usage:

lua
{
name = "Mysterious Potion",
hideResources = true,
ressources = {
{ name = "Rare Herb", neededQuantity = 3 },
{ name = "Pure Water", neededQuantity = 1 }
}
}

hideUntilCraftable

Completely hides the recipe until the player has ALL required ingredients.

Behavior:

  • Recipe doesn't appear in the list
  • As soon as player obtains all required materials, it becomes visible
  • Useful for "discoverable" or secret recipes

Usage:

lua
{
name = "Legendary Recipe",
hideUntilCraftable = true,
ressources = {
{ name = "Dragon Bone", neededQuantity = 1 },
{ name = "Star Dust", neededQuantity = 5 }
}
}

Combining Both

You can use both properties together for a progressive effect:

lua
{
name = "Sage's Elixir",
hideUntilCraftable = true, -- Invisible until all materials obtained
hideResources = true, -- Once visible, resources remain hidden
ressources = {
{ name = "Secret Ingredient", neededQuantity = 2 }
}
}

Usage Examples
