Murphy's Safe

Getting Started

Installation

Install and verify Murphy's Safe with the correct resource, dependencies and configuration for your release.

Prepare the resource

Download the complete murphy_safe resource from your customer assets. Check the installed version in fxmanifest.lua. Back up your working configuration and database before updating. Keep the resource folder name unchanged and place the manifest directly inside it, rather than nesting the extracted resource inside an extra download folder.

Dependencies and configuration

Start your framework and inventory, the database connector imported by the package, and its menu/prompt dependencies before Safe. Support has confirmed murphy_menu for code entry and uiprompt for the prompt workflow. The store also lists murphy_notify, murphy_lockpick and murphy_discordlogs; configure the integrations used by your downloaded version.

Check external imports in fxmanifest.lua: an @oxmysql/lib/MySQL.lua import requires oxmysql. Check startup output before assuming the database connection works.

Set Config.framework to the exact value supplied for your framework. Match each safe type's item name with the inventory registry. Configure administrator groups only for administrative actions; normal safe placement is not a reason to give players an admin group.

Review your release's database setup. The 1.3.0 notes introduce automatic initialization and an RSG creation fix. Do not drop existing safe or storage tables to install an update. If using named Discord logs, match Safe's Config.DiscordLogs value to an entry in the logging resource.

Start and verify

After the dependencies and configuration in config.lua are ready, add the resource line:

server.cfg
ensure murphy_safe

This is the resource's start line, not a complete server configuration. Check the first client/server error, then test one normal action with a test character. Verify the result after reconnecting where data should persist. Use Common Issues for the relevant symptom.

When merging an update, retain your settings while adding new required keys. Include UI, translation and adapter files listed in its release notes; changing only fxmanifest.lua does not update the implementation.
