F1 Menu Customization Guide

This guide explains how to customize the quick clothing management menu (F1 by default) in murphy_clothing.

Overview

The F1 menu allows players to quickly toggle clothing items on/off without opening the full clothing shop. By default, it provides grouped buttons to remove items from different body parts.

Configuration Location

All F1 menu configuration is done in shared/config.lua in the Config.Removecategories table.

How It Works

The Config.Removecategories table defines button groups. Each group:

  • Has a key (e.g., head, neck) that identifies the button
  • Has a value which is a table of clothing categories that will be toggled when the button is pressed
  • Only appears if the player is wearing at least one item from the listed categories

When a player clicks a button, all categories in that group are toggled on/off.

Default Configuration

lua
Config.Removecategories = {
head = {
"hats", "masks", "eyewear", "headwear", "face_props",
"hat_accessories", "masks_large"
},
neck = {
"neckties", "neckwear", "neckerchiefs"
},
torso = {
"coats", "coats_heavy", "coats_closed", "cloaks", "ponchos",
"vests", "suspenders", "overalls_full", "shirts_full_overpants",
"unionsuits_full", "overalls_modular_uppers"
},
shirts = {
"shirts_full", "lduvmjua_0x2b388a05"
},
legs = {
"pants", "pants_accessories", "spats", "belts", "skirts"
},
feet = {
"boot_accessories", "chaps", "boots", "aprons"
},
hands = {
"gloves"
},
weapons = {
"gunbelts", "holsters_right", "holsters_knife", "loadouts",
"holsters_left", "holsters_crossdraw", "holsters_center",
"gunbelt_accs", "holsters_quivers", "ammo_pistols"
},
accessories = {
"jewelry_necklaces", "gloves", "belts", "neckwear",
"neckerchiefs", "neckties", "accessories", "jewelry_earrings",
"jewelry_bracelets", "aprons", "gauntlets", "chaps",
"satchels", "jewelry_rings_left", "wrist_bindings",
"belt_buckles", "badges", "jewelry_rings_right",
"ankle_bindings", "mbbwboia_0x42e8f927", "pants_accessories",
"coat_accessories", "armor"
}
}

Customization Examples

Example 1: Add a Separate "Hat Only" Button

If you want a button that only toggles hats (not masks, eyewear, etc.):

lua
Config.Removecategories = {
-- Existing head button now without hats
head = {
"masks", "eyewear", "headwear", "face_props",
"hat_accessories", "masks_large"
},
-- New separate hat button
hat = {
"hats"
},
-- ... rest of config
}

Then add the button label in shared/lang.lua:

lua
Lang.Categories = {
["Remove_hat"] = "Remove Hat",
-- ... rest of labels
}

Example 2: Add a "Mask Only" Button

lua
Config.Removecategories = {
-- ... existing config
mask = {
"masks", "masks_large"
},
}

Add label in shared/lang.lua:

lua
["Remove_mask"] = "Remove Mask",

Example 3: Add an "Eyewear" Button (Glasses)

lua
Config.Removecategories = {
-- ... existing config
glasses = {
"eyewear"
},
}

Add label in shared/lang.lua:

lua
["Remove_glasses"] = "Remove Glasses",

Example 4: Separate Coat and Vest Buttons

lua
Config.Removecategories = {
-- Coat only
coat = {
"coats", "coats_heavy", "coats_closed", "cloaks", "ponchos"
},
-- Vest only
vest = {
"vests"
},
-- Rest of torso items
torso = {
"suspenders", "overalls_full", "shirts_full_overpants",
"unionsuits_full", "overalls_modular_uppers"
},
-- ... rest of config
}

Add labels in shared/lang.lua:

lua
["Remove_coat"] = "Remove Coat",
["Remove_vest"] = "Remove Vest",

Example 5: Add a "Jewelry" Button

lua
Config.Removecategories = {
-- ... existing config
jewelry = {
"jewelry_necklaces", "jewelry_earrings", "jewelry_bracelets",
"jewelry_rings_left", "jewelry_rings_right"
},
}

Add label in shared/lang.lua:

lua
["Remove_jewelry"] = "Remove Jewelry",

Example 6: Remove a Button Entirely

Simply remove the entry from Config.Removecategories. For example, to remove the weapons button:

lua
Config.Removecategories = {
head = { ... },
neck = { ... },
torso = { ... },
shirts = { ... },
legs = { ... },
feet = { ... },
hands = { ... },
-- weapons = { ... }, -- REMOVED
accessories = { ... }
}

Important Notes

  1. Button Visibility: Buttons only appear if the player is currently wearing at least one item from the listed categories.

  2. Toggle Behavior: Clicking a button toggles the items on/off. If items are equipped, they will be hidden. Click again to show them.

  3. Language File: Always add a corresponding label in shared/lang.lua for any new button you create, using the format ["Remove_buttonname"] = "Button Label".

  4. Category Names: Category names must match exactly (case-sensitive) with the internal category names listed above.

  5. Restart Required: After modifying the config, restart the resource for changes to take effect.
